When life feels unmanageable… what then?

Have you ever laid awake at night, thinking: I just can’t cope with this?

As humans, we’re very skilled at dodging discomfort — avoiding awkward conversations, leaving noisy places, pushing down emotions we don’t want to feel. But some things in life can’t be fixed or avoided — a long-term health condition, chronic stress, or caring for a loved one.

When we can’t change our circumstances, the only option is to strengthen our inner resources. And this is where mindfulness can help.

Why does mindfulness help?

As many who already have an established practice will know, mindfulness offers powerful tools which allow us to meet difficult circumstances with resilience. Not in a way that forces us to ‘just get on with it’ or put on a brave face, but through techniques that genuinely help us to find more ease in our lives and rediscover moments of peace, and even joy.

Increasingly, studies reveal mindfulness is far more than a ‘fluffy’ form of self-care - it's a powerful tool for rewiring our brains, creating meaningful changes in how we think, feel, and respond. But these changes don’t happen overnight, and we can’t see transformation from simply learning about mindfulness. This is a practice that must be lived, not just learned, and lasting change requires commitment and daily practice.

Why take an 8-week mindfulness course?

If you’re looking to begin a mindfulness practice — or reconnect with it in a deeper way — our 8-week courses offer a powerful place to start.

It can be hard to go it alone. We’ve all optimistically downloaded an app and then… never opened it again. Our courses provide:

  • A clear path to follow, so you don’t have to figure it all out yourself

  • The support of a warm, experienced teacher

  • The quiet encouragement of a community who ‘get it’

  • A fixed time in your diary — sometimes, that’s all it takes to stay on track

Time Commitment

Mindfulness is something we learn by doing. On all formats of the course, you’ll be invited to try guided meditations and informal practices to bring mindfulness into daily life. Around 10–20 minutes a day is recommended — but there’s no pressure to do it perfectly. We’ll support you to explore what’s possible for you.

Worried about cost?

We know times are tough for many, and we never want money to be the reason someone misses out on support.

Our Teacher-Led and Blended Learning formats are offered on a sliding scale, and we have a limited number of bursary places available for those facing financial hardship. You can learn more about bursary eligibility by clicking here. If you're not sure which rate to choose, or want to talk it through, please contact us — we’re always happy to help.

The Self-Guided course is set at our most affordable rate. While it isn’t eligible for additional financial support, many people have found it a valuable way to begin — especially if other options aren’t accessible right now.
